Bio: At the age of eight, James lost his family by his father's hand, due to a man named Sawyer who stole all of their money in an elaborate scheme. He wrote a letter, vowing to one day give it to the man who killed his family. It is unknown who took custody of James, but eventually discontent grew to fury, fury grew to hate, and soon, James decided to kill the man who ruined his life. He dropped out of school in ninth grade, and became a confidence man at the age of nineteen, when he owed some men $6,000. Soon James became the man he hated, renaming himself 'Sawyer'. He later tried to con a woman named Jessica out of $160,000, but could not bring himself to do it after looking into the eyes of their son. He later formed a relationship with Mary Jo, the woman who read Hurley's lottery numbers. Sawyer would later take on a woman named Cassidy as an apprentice, but this was actually a con to steal her money. He was fond of her, thus reluctant to go on with the scam. However, his partner forced him to continue by threatening Cassidy's life. It is unknown if he loved her or not, yet he stole the money anyways. In response, Cassidy turned Sawyer in, resulting in a 7 year prison sentence. Sawyer later found out where to find the man who had killed his family, and flew to Australia to claim vengeance. Upon meeting Jack's father in a bar, after a failed attempt to kill the real Sawyer, James finally decides to kill Sawyer. On the flight back, they crashed onto the island, and when Walt, Michael's son, found some handcuffs in the jungle, everyone jumped to the conclusion that Sawyer was the prisoner. He later accompanied the survivors to higher ground, to test the radio. When a polar bear attacks, he kills it with the gun he stole from the air marshal escorting Kate. He began hording everything he could get his hands on, thus whenever anything went missing, everyone suspected Sawyer. Later, Shannon's asthma medication goes missing, and when Boone sees Sawyer reading a book from their luggage, he assumes Sawyer has stolen the medication. In an attempt to retrieve the medication from Sawyer, Kate bargains with him, asking what he wants in return. He replies, "A kiss." He later makes her read the letter to Sawyer. Sawyer was tortured by Sayid and Jack, and eventually Kate finally kissed him, only to find out he didn't have the medication. A boar later ransacked his tent, and he decided to kill the boar, along with Kate's help, though he found he couldn't do it, because the boar reminded him of the man he killed. On that day, they heard whispers in the jungle, supporting Sayid's claim. Sawyer experienced headaches due to his constant reading. It was later found that he needed glasses, which were welded together by Sayid. Sawyer bought his way on board a raft Michael had built, and tried to escape the island. Kate tried to steal his spot on the raft, and Sawyer revealed she was a fugitive. Eventually they launched the raft, with Sawyer, Walt, Michael, and Jin on it. While on the raft, he was shot by the Others when he tried to prevent them from taking Walt. The raft was set on fire by the Others, and Sawyer saved Michael, dragging him onto wreckage of the raft, and removing the bullet from his arm with his bare hands. They later found Jin when they were captured by the 'Tailies', after crashing back on the island. They were eventually released by Ana-Lucia, and it became apparent that they were accompanying their fellow survivors. Sawyers condition grew worse, and eventually they had to take him to Jack. They built a stretcher to carry him, and when they had almost reached the camp, Ana-Lucia shot and killed Shannon, who was attempting to find Walt, with Sayid's help. He later worked with Charlie to steal the belongings that Jack had taken from him.
Roleplay example:
'James, get under the bed.'
His mother left the room.
'What are you doing with a gun?! No, no!'
The shots echoed throughout the house. Booted feet walked into the room. A gun clicked, and another shot was fired.
'Mom? Dad?!'
Dead. Both of them were dead, and there was nothing he could do.
Gray eyes opened onto the harsh light flowing in from the tree boughs. The sweet scents of the jungle drifted through the trees. The man ran a hand through his blond hair, and pushed himself up into a sitting position. He picked up a book from the bag lying next to him and began to read, trying to keep himself occupied. He sighed, and put the book down, and took an envelope out of his pocket.
Dear Mr. Sawyer, You don't know who I am but I know who you are and I know what you done. You had sex with my mother and then you stole my dad's money all away. So he got angry and he killed my mother and then he killed himself, too. All I know is your name. But one of these days I'm going to find you and I'm going to give you this letter so you'll remember what you done to me. You killed my parents, Mr. Sawyer.
He stuffed the letter back into his pocket, after reading through it.
And I killed you.
The man's gray eyes flickered dangerously, and he picked the book back up, and started reading again. He put the book down again, and leaned against a tree-trunk, staring at the sky. He took a cigarette out of a package and lit it up, sighing as the smoke drifted up into the trees.
