Tears streamed down almost all of their cheeks as he pinned her down. The strongest person Jack had ever known had given up on every thing, including her own life. Jack had invited all of Kate's good friends over to try and change her mind, but no one seemed to be able too.
So there they stood in Jack and Kate's bedroom. Sawyer, Claire, Charlie, Sayid, and even Kate's father watched as she kicked and screamed; trying to get away from the people that held her back from suicide.
Four long cuts ran down her arm, along with the one that ran across her wrist. She threatend Jack, trying to get him to give the knife back to her.
Thats when he ran in. The five year old had escaped from Nadia's arms and ran into the room where all the chaos was taking place.
"Aaron!" Claire yelled. "I told you to stay out there with Nadia!"
Charlie picked up his son before the small child could run across the room.
"Aunt Kate!" Aaron yelled. He tried desperately to get away from Charlie, and after whacking him a few times finally managed to do so. He ran over to Kate, who tried to ignore him. Aaron gasped at her bloody arm. "Aunt Kate got a boo boo?" he asked. "Don't worry, Jack-Jack will fix it for you."
Charlie quickly grabbed the child and carried him outside.
"Whats wrong with Aunt Kate?" Aaron asked.
Charlie tried to explain what was going on to the best of his abilities, but stopped when Aaron started crying. Charlie sat down in the grass and looked up at the stars. He pointed to the brightest star in the sky, the North Star. "See that star?" he asked.
The little boy looked up at the star and nodded
Charlie smiled. "Thats your angel." he said. "It's your's and only your's."
Aaron stared at the star and smiled. "Wow..." he whispered extra quietly.
Charlie sighed. "I bet there are angels surrounding this whole house tonight." he whispered.
"Why?" Aaron asked curiously.
"To keep Aunt Kate safe." Charlie explained. "And to keep everyone from being so sad."
"Oh." Aaron said simply. He looked at the ground.
"If you depend on your angel, then everything will be ok." Charlie told him.
"Can that be Aunt Kate's angel?" Aaron asked; looking up and pointing at the star right next to his own.
Charlie smiled and nodded. He suddenly stood up and knocked on the bedroom window. When Sayid opened it, he told him to have everyone come outside for a moment.
The people filed out of the house. Jack was last out. He stood behind Kate; pinning her arms to her sides so she couldn't get away from him.
"What do you want, Charlie?" Sayid asked him.
Charlie smiled. "Aaron has something to show everyone." he said. He nodded at Aaron.
Aaron smiled and walked over to Kate, and gently held her hand in his. "You see that star?" he asked; pointing to the star that was right next to his own.
Kate looked up and nodded.
Aaron smiled. "That's your angel." he told her. "And if you depend on your angel, then everything will be ok." he said; turning to look at her.
Kate stood there silently staring at the star for a few seconds, until she began to smile. "Thanks Aaron." she whispered.
Everyone's cheeks were gleaming with tears. They had tried everything in their power to help her, but the only thing it took was a small child telling her that he knew everything would be ok.
Jack left go of Kate and pulled Aaron off to the side. "You know, people can be angels too." he whispered so no one but Aaron could hear him.
"Really?" Aaron asked.
Jack nodded. "And you're an angel who just saved my angel's life."
