You'd think I would have known that we have worry about small things along with the big ones. A frustrated sigh left her lips as she leaned her head back against the cave wall. She slid a hand over her forehead then wiped the sweat from it on her green shirt. I'm not going in there. I don't need to go in there," she assured herself silently. Once I sit here long enough to get my strength back, I'm going back to the beach. No one will even know I was here.
Staring outside above the trees, she watched as the sky began to slowly light up, the sun finally beginning to rise. Took it long enough. After what seemed like a night that was never going to end, it was nice to see day coming again.
He'll probably be up soon. I should go. Placing her hands on the ground, she moved to push herself up. Pain immediately shot through her arm and she fought back a small noise, quickly giving up on getting up. Trying to glance through the darkness at her arm, she couldn't see much of the red and swollen spider bite.
Sinking down against the wall, she closed her eyes, dark circles under them proving that her night had been spent sleepless. It's hard to sleeve when your tent is about a hundred degress hotter than hell and you're sick every other hour.
Leaning her head forward slightly, she slid the scrunchie off her wrist and put her hair back, hoping in lowering her body temperature a little. Maybe then I can get myself back to the beach. She never quite made it even out of the caves though. Staying slouched against the wall right outside his cave, she drifted off before the sun even got fully up.

"Shhhh."A worried mother tried to silence her wailing baby as she made her way through the forest and towards the caves. She didn't find Jack at the camp so she figured he would be at his little infermary, hopfully. "I know baby."She replied, rocking her baby. He finally quieted, but was now running a fever. "Mummy's here."She whispered to him, looking around as the sun started to light her way, which she was greatful for.
Claire walked out of the trees and into the opening before the caves. She looked around then stopped when she spotted someone at the opening of them. "Jack?"She asked hopfully, walking forward. "Oh."She added, seeing who it actually was. "Kate it's you. jack isn't in there, is he?"

A voice snapped Kate from her light sleep. For a moment she was convinced she should get up and run before she realized it was only Claire. After quickly rubbing her eyes, she sat up a bit straight and looked up. "Oh, um, I don't really know," she replied, having not gotten close enough to actually see in his cave; sitting slightly at an angle so if he was, he couldn't see her either. "He might be. You can check." Her voice came out slightly raspy and she glanced over the stream, but figured a drink could wait until later.

Claire shifted her baby and nodded, walking to the cave opening and peering inside. "Jack?"She asked, walking in and looking around for a moment. Apon finding the cave empty, she sighed and walked back out. "He's not."She replied and looked down at Kate again. "Are you ok?"She asked, noticing how she looked a bit peckish.

"Are you okay?"[i/] He'd heard the familiar aussie accent inquire as he rounded the corner and stepped into the caves. The early morning paitents. "Hey. What's wrong?" he asked, somewhat out of breath from the hike up there. He bent down next to Kate who was more visibly ill than Claire or Aaron. He touched her forehead to feel for a fever.

Kate blinked a few times when she said he wasn't. She wondered where he had gone to. She had been there since around three in the morning, which meant that he hadn't been there at all. Surely if he came out of his cave, he would have spotted her and said something. "Yeah. I'm fine," she replied, her problems forgotten for a moment as she tried to figure out where he was.
His voice caught her attention and she quickly turned her head, watching as he came in. "I'm fine," she said, swatting his hand away from her forehead with a slight frown.

Claire jumped slightly at the sudden voice of Jack as he came seemingly out of nowhere and walked over to Kate, checking her tempreture. She didn't want to interupt anything, Kate /did/ look sick and all. But then again, her baby was running a fever and she just wanted to make sure that he was ok.

Jack frowned and noticed the bug bite on her arm. He gently reached for her arm and straightned it out gently, examining it. He pressed on it gently to see how bad it was before heading into the cave and grabbing the peroxide he had next to his bed along with a clean rag. He came back out and squatted back next to her, soaking a small bit of the rag in the peroxide, then carefully scrubbing the bite, drawing the poison out. He looked to Claire and Aaron while he did so. "What's up?" He asked the young mother concernedly.

Kate glared at him, continuously moving her arm out of his reach. "It's just a bug bite," she said, unhappily. "I'm not even here to see you." God, she hated when he went into his stupid doctor mode. Technically, she wasn't even here to see him. The caves just happened to be more relaxing. They were cool, quiet, and people rarely came there.
Slightly annoyed with him, she dizzily pushed herself up, moving over to the stream and plopping back down. Did he think she hadn't tried to take care of it? She'd cleaned it off, of couse. She wasn't stupid. She found no point in trying to get poison out if there was any. The spider had bit her mid-day the day before. If anything was there, it was already running through her blood.
Leaning forward, she cupped her hands together and dipped them in the water before bringing them up to her lips and drinking it down.

Claire watched Kate walk off in silence before turning her atention back to Jack. "It's Aaron..."She said and shook her head. "He woke me up crying and now he's got fever..."

Jack nodded and stood up to look at Aaron closely. "Any vomiting? How has he been eating lately?" Jack asked concernedly. He touched the tiny infant boy's head. It was soft to the touch and definately warm to the touch. He was too young to be teething just yet.

After getting a few mouthfuls of water down, Kate turned slightly, watching them from her spot by the stream. Good thing that kid was way to young to be annoyed by his doctor mode. She sighed and got up again, taking a moment to get her balance. Walking back over to where she had been sitting, she lifted up her backpack, swinging it over one of her shoulders. "I'll see you later," she said, planning on trying to make it back to the beach.

"No no.."Claire shook her head. "No vomiting... He's been eating fine."She looked from jack down to Aaron again, then over at Kate as she spoke up.

Jack nodded, listening to Claire as he looked over Aaron. "Has he been lethargic, unusually pale?" Jack inquired as he paused to glance over Claire's shoulder as Kate left. He'd catch up with her in a moment. Chances were Aaron just had a fever and it would pass. Children generally got sick frequently in their first few years of life.

Kate headed back on the path to the beach, her frown fading slightly as she walked. Aaron needed Jack more than she did. She was a grown woman who could take of herself. Aaron was just a little baby. Being sick here was probably definitely more dangerous for a little kid than for an adult.
