"I...I dunno."Claire said, looking down at her baby in the dim light. He had only just started with the fever and the sun wasn't even fully out yet, she had no idea how his coloring was. "Is that bad if he is?"

Jack shook his head. "Not necessairly. It's pretty common for a baby his age to just get a fever. If it really isn't anything else other than a fever just give him a spongebath with lukewarm water to help bring down his fever. Other than that just try and make him comfortable, keep a close eye on him. If it doesnt' go away after a day or two or he gets worse, let me know." Jack told the young mother, touching her shoulder reassuringly.

I wonder what would have happened if I didn't leave, Kate thought, sitting down beside a tree. He probably would have went back into doctor mode with me again. So stupid. I could have a splinter and someone else could be shot and he'd probably still fuss over me. She shook her head, closing her eyes.

Claire nodded uncertainly. What the heck is lukewarm water anyway? "Right....."She said and looked down at her son as he began to grow a bit more fussy. "Shhh."She said and kissed his forehead. "Ok...yeah thanks."She said, looking back up at Jack.

Jack smiled at Claire with a slight nod. "No problem. Feel better, Aaron." he told the little boy, stroking the infant's soft head gently before turning around and squatting to fill up his water bottle. He certainly hoped Aaron's fever went away, otherwise there wasn't much Jack could do to help him. He really didn't have the supplies necessary to help him if he didn't.

Leaning against the tree beside her, Kate closed her eyes. Never thought leaning against a tree would be comfortable. Maybe I'm just really tired. I shouldn't sit here in the jungle. Ignoring her last thought, she rubbed her eyes. I'll be fine for the time being.

Claire nodded her head and kissed Aaron's head again to try and keep him calm. "Ok."She agreed slowly and turned, heading back into the jungle with caution. She took the path that lead to the stream. She paused, spotted Kate and sighed smally. "Kate?"She said, walking over. "Are you sure you're ok?"

Once he'd filled up a couple water bottles he began to search what few medication bottles he had for whatever might help Kate best. He put a few in his backpack along with the tiny bottles . He hoped the bite wasn't too poisonous. Maybe enough to make her sick but hopefully not kill her. He set out to follow Kate's path and see if he could help her.

Kate sighed. Note to self: Avoid Jack and /Claire/. "Yeah, I'm fine," she said, opening her eyes, glancing around at her surroundings for a moment. "I was just...supposed to meet Sawyer here," she lied, smiling slightly.

"Oh."Claire looked around then forced a smile. "Ok. I'll see you later, yea?"She walked passed her and continued down to the beach.

Jack continued along the trail, arriving at the tree where Kate was a little while after Claire. He slipped off his bag and set it on the ground before sitting next to her and closing his eyes. He leaned against the tree, relaxing for the moment. "Must've been one hell of a night for you." he commented after a long while.

Kate glanced over at him. "I'm meeting someone here," she informed him. Now she just wished someone would come so she could grab their arm and yank them into the jungle to make it look like they were going for a walk. She crossed her arms, wishing she had remembered to fill her waterbottle. Oh well. He had to leave eventually. Someone was bound to need him like they always did.

Jack nodded. He highly doubted that and just figured he was being stubborn but he played along. "Hotter than usual today." Jack commented about the weather as he pulled out a waterbottle for himself. "Want one?" he offered politely as he pulled out the waterbottle for himself.

Kate glanced at the water then shook her head. "No thanks. I have my own." Turning, she looked out at the jungle for a moment before pushing herself up. "He probably forgot. I'm going to go find him. See you later, Jack."

"Hey, Kate?" Jack said pushing himself up as well. "Just in case the bite gives you too much trouble. Kill the pain." Jack said handing her one of the pill bottles. "Good luck finding them." Jack said with a nod, patting her shoulder before turning and walking off back towards his infirmary, not going to bother her otherwise.
